Excited to announce SocioGenesis, a new research project I’m leading as a Together AI collaboration, advised by Prof. James Zou, Prof. Jiaxuan You, and Shang Zhu!

SocioGenesis Architecture Overview

SocioGenesis: Long-Horizon Organization Simulation for LLM Agents

SocioGenesis is a long-horizon LLM-agent organization testbed that studies how agent companies form persistent organizational capabilities under realistic constraints such as roles, skills, deadlines, meetings, tool access, fatigue, and budget.

Core Ideas:

  • Professional profile graphs as structured decision priors over role, skill, memory, and decision preferences โ€” moving beyond persona-style prompting toward graph-grounded organizational heterogeneity.
  • OrgEnv, a startup-style product-development environment with repositories, documents, workspaces, customer events, and community-profile evaluators for multi-day product-development outcomes.
  • A bio-inspired cognitive loop (perception โ†’ memory โ†’ planning โ†’ action โ†’ reflection) running under explicit time, fatigue, and token-economy constraints.

My Role:

  • Lead problem formulation, benchmark design, and profile-graph construction
  • Design ablations and product-market evaluation comparing homogeneous agents, role-only agents, aligned professional-profile agents, shuffled-profile controls, and institution-formation pipelines

Building organizations that grow โ€” not just agents that chat. ๐Ÿค–๐ŸŒ
